DOG TALENT ASSOCIATION
PART SIX
CHAMPION TITLE
1. Choose 3 of your favourite tricks on Advanced or Expert level and show them with your dog in 3 distinctly different places. The places for Part 2 can be the same places as you selected for your Part 1, but will be, of course, performed with different tricks.
2. At the end of Part 2 please record a short explanation/video reflecting why do you feel your dog and you particularly enjoy those tricks (as demonstrated in Part 1 and 2)? How this preference reflects your dog’s personality, talent and abilities? Why do you personally like those tricks?
Part 3: Demonstrate 5 Sequences of any two behaviours from Advanced or Expert level.
Be creative and combine tricks from different areas of skills. This is the opportunity to demonstrate different aspects of your dog’s talent and that your dog is able to easily switch from one area of skills to another. The sequence should show a smooth transition from one trick to another and that your dog maintains its focus on you and is enthusiastic throughout. The dog can be given praise as many times as you need throughout the sequence, but the food or toy reward can only be given on completion of the full sequence. The tricks in those sequences need to be from the Advanced or Expert level.
Part 4: 3 Sequences of 5 different behaviours.
Behaviours can be from any level (Foundation, Novice, Advanced, Expert), and the same identical behaviour must not be repeated in another sequence. For example, if you asked your dog to "sit pretty” in one sequence, you can’t do it in another sequence, but of course, you can ask “to hold an object while sitting pretty” instead.
Part 5: Show your creativity and your unique tricks.
Show 2 unique tricks or behaviours that are not on the current list of behaviours. Alternatively, you can use the behaviours on the list, but you need to perform them with your dog in a distinctly different way. Be creative and show off your dog’s talent. Please do not re-use the submissions from your previous titles.
Part 6: Your reflections.
Please record a short video of your reflections on the following questions:
1) How your relationship with your dog changed through Dog Talent development/trick training?
2) What was the biggest challenge you had with your dog and how you overcame it? Is there anything that you would do differently if you had to deal with it again?
3) What changes did you notice in your dog through Dog Talent development/trick training?
4) What are your next goals or aspirations with your dog? How Dog Talent Association team could potentially help you to achieve those goals?
