AKC
AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB
I am not personally a big fan of the AKC, they do good in a lot instances. They offer a wide variety of things to help with your dog. I suppose my biggest complaint is a lot of people say the AKC is the end all of knowledge about dogs, which they are not. They are a big organization, they have sub organizations within. There is a lot of valuable information to be learned from them, but they are not the end all of knowledge when it comes to your personal dog. I must again say, my motto.
"NOT ALL DOGS ARE THE SAME."
With that said, I am going to go over some of the things that the AKC offers, with specific information about their trick dog titles and Canine Good Citizen.
AKC CANINE HEALTH FOUNDATION: This nonprofit organization is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of diseases in all dogs.
AKC RESUCE NETWORK: The largest network of dog rescue groups within the US.
AKC REUNITE: North America's largest non profit pet ID and recovery service. Providing a national recovery database to safely return dogs home should they get lost.
AKC PET DISASTER RELIEF: Helping local emergency management to provide animal care services immediately following disasters.
AKC HUMANE FUND: Grants and resources to pet related organizations across the nation for educating the public about responsible dog ownership.
Theses are a few of the services they offer.
